Catch 22 began life as ‘Catch 22 Employment Agency Ltd’ in 1982, supplying temporary staff to London-based clients in both public and private sectors. Early activities centred on short-term assignments for coverage of ad hoc requirements in disciplines that, in the fullness of time, became recognised as classic facilities support services.
The company grew steadily during the ‘Eighties and its reputation as an uncompromising supplier of quality staff was well and truly established. In 1994, Catch 22 decided to reposition and rebrand its operation, targeting the fast-expanding FM sector and particularly the growth in Total Facilities Management. The thinking was to provide those TFM companies with a ‘second-phase’ service that would not only offer industry-aware recruitment but that would enable them to fulfil their budgetary promises to their clients without reducing standards of service.
The establishment of a dedicated and respected Permanent Recruitment division proved to be an influential tool in the marketing of Catch 22 within the FM industry. This division continues to grow at an accelerated rate and is very influential in the generation of new client interest. We have recently taken the natural progressive move to add a Search and Selection division so, if your position is at all problematical or maybe discretion is the key, we can resolve the problem.
In 1996, Catch 22 opened its provincial office in Leeds. Under the auspices of Simon Aspinall, whose local knowledge and sphere of influence enabled the branch to present a credible image, the operation has continued to grow in a market that has nearly reached agency saturation point.
The Staff Outsourcing division was established in 1998 and now operates as a payroll service for five major property management companies in respect of their on-site building staff. All personnel issues are encompassed within the service, including the provision of training for management and operatives.
Catch 22 has recently introduced its Managed Services division to provide cost-effective solutions to clients with specific human resource issues to ensure that their business objectives are met satisfactorily.
