Catch22 are currently working with a specialist Facilities Management provider who are seeking a Multi-Site Building Services Engineer to cover two sites in Central London.
They are working with the International Head Quarters of a large charity and a large research institute near Liverpool Street Station – two high profile office buildings with state of the art systems and an extremely high level of presentation and customer focus.  As such – we are seeking well presented, customer focused engineers who have a keen eye for high tech facilities and information technology systems.
That said……. we are not seeking all encompassing superstar engineers. Customer focus and a willingness to "muck in" and ensure client satisfaction is as important as technical know how.
We need electrically qualified personnel who have a good understanding of air conditioning (VRF) systems but FGAS is not a requirement. Flexibility, determination and a great work ethic are most important.
 The Main Duties & Responsibilities are;
  • Overall responsibility for timely completion of all maintenance and reactive tasks associated with client assets. The first line of response for all associated M&E and Fabric issues.
  • Carry out regular and periodic inspections and maintenance (including all statutory, mandatory requirements and insurance inspections) to maintain the efficiency and safety of M&E installations including fire safety, fire fighting equipment and security systems. Liaise with client staff over specific requirements.
  • Where requested provide technical M&E advice and support to the client.
  • Prepare annual and periodic cost estimates for M&E maintenance, running costs, minor works and equipment for inclusion in regional budgets and estimates. Prepare regular cost reports on progress of expenditure as required.
  • Liaise with other professionals undertaking project work and contribute site and maintenance information where required.
  • Ensure relevant M&E handover documentation is accurate and complete and report any short- comings as appropriate i.e. to the project manager/sponsor.
  • With the client, ensure the effective implementation of the Asset Management Plan, to inform the planning and management of works across the estate.
  • Be willing to complete lower level tasks such as toilet, urinal and small fabric based issues.
The Ideal Candidate;
  • Minimum level BTEC/HNC/HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or similar
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering
  • Must be able to work unsupervised to a high quality.
  • Some knowledge of mechanical engineering and building construction.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Must be familiar with the general risks and hazards associated with building work including asbestos.
  • Flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Must have reasonable understanding of construction and health and safety knowledge and legislation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate relevant up to date CPD records.
You will receive an Oyster Card for Zones 1-2 to travel between sites and your days will largely be split 50/50 between the two sites – operating at one site between 8:00am and 1:00pm before moving onto the other client.
The salary for this role is being offered at £36,000 plus several hours of overtime your discretion. A generous pension and holiday package is being offered plus the opportunity for training and development.
