Facilities Maintenance Engineer
SALARY: Competitive HOURS 37.5 hours (annualised)
WORKING PATTERN Monday – Sunday
LOCATION Kings Dock, Liverpool, L3

Catch 22 are working with one of the North West's leading Conference and Entertainment venues as they seek to strengthen their Estates Maintenance Team with the addition of an Electrically biased Facilities Maintenance Engineer.
This is an excellent single site position offering a very competitive salary, free parking, Medicare, 23 days holiday (rising to 27 over time) and the chance to work with an established estates team on a state of the art venue.
In return – we need a qualified engineer (17th or 18th edition is a minimum requirement) with previous experience in a similar role. We are seeking FLEXIBILITY – the site operates around its various exhibitions and events and as such, the maintenance team must be available on some weekends. A shift rota system is in place and we envisage each engineer to be working 2 weekends per month although this is flexible.
Therefore we need engineers that can work a five day week around this shift pattern. The engineers typically work either 6:00-2:00 or 2:00-10:00 on a five day per week basis. So this isn't for everyone!
Typical duties will include:
  • To monitor the work carried out by service partners and other third parties and report back to the Facility Manager and Facilities Maintenance Supervisor as appropriate.
  • To liaise with the Facility Manager and Facilities Maintenance Supervisor ensuring that good lines of communication are maintained and that all relevant documentation is maintained accurately and is available for the Facility Manager on demand.
  • To advise clients in respect of the installed systems and to facilitate their needs with regard to power requirements, HVAC, water and drainage systems.
  • To carry out inspections whether routine, planned preventative maintenance or condition surveys.
  • To take a proactive role in maintaining compliance within the legal framework of current Health and Safety regulations as they apply to this job role.
  • This position will require working any 5 days in 7 and will require evening work, night work, weekends and bank holidays. Furthermore, you may periodically be required to work at short notice in order to maintain the venue to its highest standard and to meet the needs of the agreed programme of event activities. This is reflected in the salary for this role.

We would love to recruit someone with the following qualifications and areas of experience:

  • Electrical or Mechanical City and Guilds or Diplomas
  • 17th Edition Regulations
  • IPAF Operation
  • Experience/knowledge of Building Management Systems.
