A well establish charity is looking for a Facilities Officer to join their team in their Central London offices.
This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

To be considered for the role the successful candidate will need to have relevant experience in similar role and a good working knowledge of Building Regulations and Fire Regulations, particularly in relation to Health and Safety.

The purpose of the role is to support the Facilities and Premises Manager in the following areas:

Health and Safety
Premises Management
Building Maintenance & Cleaning
IT, Printing and Telephony

The skills set required includes:

Experience of supervising maintenance contractors
Working knowledge of Building Regulations & Fire Regulations, particularly in relation to Health and
Safety coupled with experience of implementing practical H&S measures in relation to premises issues
Building Maintenance
Broad knowledge of basic building repairs and maintenance (eg plumbing systems), combined with
experience of personally undertaking them to a high standard
Experience of supervising work programmes
Experience of working with an outsourced IT support contract
Broad knowledge of networked systems
Experience of using both manual and computerised administrative systems
An understanding of and a commitment to Equal Opportunities.

Abilities and Skills

Ability to understand printed instructions and diagrams relating to the building and its systems
Ability to undertake a range of building maintenance issues either directly or by supervising external contractors.
Information Technology
Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, contractors and clients.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate information’ effectively, both verbally and in writing, to other workers and contractors.
Ability to exercise initiative, prioritise work effectively, including managing multiple competing priorities and work under pressure.
Ability to undertake manual work (within Health and Safety parameters) such as moving heavy equipment and climbing ladders
Sympathy with the aims of the organisation.
