Our client, a department of Central Government in Whitehall, is recruiting and Interim Head of Estates and Facilities Management on 6 to 8 month contract. A salary of £63k pro rata is offered. Immediate start required.
If you have a track record as a senior property professional known for delivering a high-quality, cost-effective facilities management service, this could be the opportunity for you. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a wide range of hard and soft facilities services at our London headquarters. This will include dealing with a range of accommodation needs; liaising with staff at all levels including Ministers; devising solutions for surge teams dealing with summits; managing our outsourced contract relationships to get the best out of our supplier partners; liaising with security and business solutions to ensure our estate remains safe and secure; attending cross government working groups on property policy and strategy and managing a team of property professionals.
This role will be for 6-8 months and responds to increased demands on the current Estates team including responding to cross-government estates initiatives and, in particular, the transfer of departmental buildings to the Government Property Agency (GPA) while delivering a number of high-profile Whitehall improvement programmes.
The successful candidate will assume full day to day operational responsibility for the London estate across a mixed portfolio of in-house and contracted services. You will work closely with your counterparts and report directly to the Deputy Head of Group Operations.
The successful applicant will be required to achieve SC level security clearance, for which 3 years continuous working with no breaks of more than 3 months is required.
