Lead Electrical Engineer (Temporary Services / Mains)
Location – Greater Manchester  
Duration – Permanent  
Salary – £35,000 plus benefits  
 
Catch 22 are working with one of the North West's leading Conference and Entertainment venues as they seek to fill the position of Lead Electrical Engineer (Temporary Services / Mains).
This is an excellent single site position with the chance to work on a state-of-the-art venue. The will require the planning and provision of temporary electrical services for large scale events and conferences. This will include the testing and inspection of the new electrical installations as well as the planning and operational delivery of complex, ever changing temporary services. The ultimate objective is to ensure that the customer experience is delivered to the highest possible standard.   
Main responsibilities  
 
  • To provide temporary services including electrical, piped water & waste, data cabling and compressed air for exhibitions and events. This includes testing and Inspection of Electrical Installations.
  • Responsible for the management of the temporary services team in line with the client's policies and procedures
  • Operate as the subject matter expert in relation to Temporary Mains Services activities.
  • Coordination and delivery of the temporary services team to facilitate event set-up and breakdown for all the above services as required
  • Coordinate labour levels to match workload, including requests for additional labour (inter-departmental, subcontract or agency)
  • Pro-active planning approach to deliver a planned high-quality service, effectively, efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain all stock inventory in line with statutory obligations as required.
  • Filing of information and test records for due diligence purposes using a variety of electronic systems, including Microsoft packages and in-house systems
  • Adhere to the client's policies, procedures and RAMS associated with the delivery of Temporary Mains and any Ad Hoc Duties
  • Drive continuous improvements in quality, productivity and health & safety.
  • Perform all duties with the utmost integrity avoiding any conflict of interest between the business and any other entities.
  • Producing and reviewing of RAMS in relation to the Temporary Mains provision, delivery of RAMS and TBT's to the team (including temporary staff) as required.
  • Responsible for general maintenance within area of responsibility, associated with the provision of temporary services and floor standards
  • Any reasonable request made by management

Qualifications
  • Electrical qualification ideally C&G 236 Part 1&2
  • C&G 2382 BS7671 Regulations
  • C&G 2391/2 Inspection and Testing
  • BS 7909 Code of practice temporary mains (Desirable, not essential)
  • H&S relevant qualification (Desirable, not essential)
  • IPAF certified (Desirable, not essential)
Knowledge
  • Bus-bar systems and electrical distribution systems
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations and health & safety
Skills
  • Communication (verbal, written and listening skills), with excellent spelling, grammar and the ability to produce error-free documents
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • The ability to prioritise work and accommodate conflicting requests, whilst ensuring the day to day functionality of the complex.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation and management of workload
  • Highly organised and ability to manage time effectively and prioritise work accordingly
  • Problem solving, questioning and focussed on finding solutions
  • Flexible and with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Understanding of AUTOCAD drawings (Desirable, not essential)

Experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of 3phase supplies and load balancing
  • Experience gained within the Exhibition and Events Industry (Desirable, not essential)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working within a similar role/at a similar level (Desirable, not essential)
The Package and Benefits:
  • Salary estimate is £35,000 per annum
  • Working hours are 40 per week
  • Any hours worked above this amount can be claimed back in time off
  • Generous pension (5x contribution from you = 10x contribution from employer)
