Catch 22 is a leading Facilities Management Recruitment Business with a network of clients across the UK. Our Technical Services Division is working in partnership with one of the UK's top 20 Facilities Management Contractors as we seek to source and appoint a Maintenance Craftsperson to service a new contract in Edinburgh.    
The Client:  
Our client has been trading internationally for many years and this is a high profile and valuable contract for them in Scotland. A significant health care facility, PFI funded and with further plans for development and growth, is looking for a number of maintenance professionals to cover the mechanical plant, HVAC services and essential equipment within the building.    
The Role:    
The role will be technically demanding and consist of supporting planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance on all critical building systems including: Generators, HVAC Systems, Some Medical Equipment (Medical Gases etc), Cooling Towers, Hot and Cold Water Storage and Supply Systems, Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units, Roller Shutter and Security Doors, Basic electrical systems, plumbing and pipework, pumps, control valves etc.
You will form part of a comprehensive maintenance team supporting mechanical and electrical trades professionals and whilst contributing to the general upkeep of the building fabric.  
The Working Hours and Package:
We are seeking people who has some flexibility to their working conditions. As a 24/7 site under critical conditions, ongoing support may be required around the clock on a call out or site based basis. Some flexibility may be required and overtime may be offered.  
Salary is estimated between 22,000 and 24,000 dependent on experience and capability. This is based on a 40 hour per week contract.  
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Apply relevant trade skills to any allocated jobs as directed by the Supervisor or Manager.
  2. Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out maintenance/repair of electrical or mechanical services plant and equipment across the site. Work alone or as part of a team carrying out refurbishment and new works across the site.
  3. To integrate and communicate effectively with other trade staff and contractors.
  4. Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of electrical or mechanical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the site.
  5. To carry out new electrical or mechanical works as required i.e. new works, refurbishment and work associated with the life cycle maintenance programme.
  6. To carry out electrical or mechanical repairs and cleaning of electrical or mechanical components and equipment as necessary.
  7. To respond promptly and efficiently to plant breakdowns.
  8. To integrate and communicate effectively with the mechanical engineering and fabric maintenance functions including contractors.
  9. To carry out portable appliance testing (PAT).
  10. To comply with statutory testing and inspection legislation (BS 7671).
  11. To undertake training and qualify as Authorised or Competent Person for Electrical or Mechanical plant/systems as required.
  12. Required to participate in a rostered 24 hour on-call system providing emergency service during non-working hours, at weekends and bank holidays.
  13. Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self development purposes.
  14. Required to participate in on-call and over-time work from time to time as necessary to meet the requirements of the service.
  15. To undertake duties of training and supervision of Maintenance Assistants, Trainees and Apprentices as required.
  16. To drive the company vehicle as required to meet the needs of the service.
  17. To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy Statement, Manual, Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
  18. To comply with the Company's Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
