Catch 22 is a leading Facilities Management Recruitment Business with a network of clients across the UK. Our Technical Services Division is working in partnership with one of the UK's top 20 Facilities Management Contractors as we seek to source and appoint an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Electrician with suitable qualifications and experience in a similar role. 17th Edition is essential and additional experience with general HVAC and Property Maintenance would be preferred. This is to cover a total of 8 educational establishments in the Midlands – ideally we'd be looking for some based around the Nottingham area with good access to Nottingham, Alfreton, Coventry, Nuneaton and Greater Birmingham.

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • 17th edition or 18th edition wiring regulations certification
  • City & Guilds 2330, 2360, 2391/92/94/95 would be ideal alongside a full apprenticeship in an electrical discipline
  • A reasonable level of post apprenticeship experience in an FM or building services maintenance position is essential. This is NOT a role suited to pure installation / refurb / shop fitting electricians.
  • Knowledge of building services, i.e.: LPHW systems, CWS systems, VAV's, Fan coil Units, fire alarm systems (for testing purposes), AHU's, boilers first fix etc.
  • A Full driving licence.
  • Understanding of asset management principals and maintenance techniques. Experience of operating a management system i.e. ISO 9001:2000, 14001, 18001.
  • A pro-active attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal and the written word.
  • The ability to form relationships with clients and to exceed customer expectation.
  • Approachable demeanour and a demonstrable commitment to team working.
  • A commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Willing to partake in all building services disciplines
  • PDBS clearance (formerly a CRB check) – this can be taken post appointment but candidates must have a relatively clean criminal record that would not restrict them from working with children or vulnerable adults.
The Benefits:
  • Salary will be negotiable – most likely between £30,000 and £31,000 – and will be dependant on qualifications and experience.
  • 28 Days holidays including bank holidays.
  • Payment for participation in a 24 hour 7 day per week on call service will be made at £100 per week. Expected rota is 1 in 5 (approx).
  • There are ample opportunities for earning additional income via overtime and emergency call out coverage.
