Multi-Skilled Mobile Handyman Engineer

Our client a fast growing and dynamic provider of all reactive maintenance services, is looking to add a mobile multi skilled engineer to their team. 

The ideal candidate will have experience within reactive maintenance and handyman jobs, but training can be provided. A vital aspect of the handyman position is a can do attitude and heart willing to go the extra mile and help the customer. They will need to be technologically competent and be able to work with the latest smart phone, laptops etc to write reports and job sheets.

Out of Hours working will be required at times. They provide days in lieu (TOIL) or pay overtime. Re numeration (pay or time off) for overtime is agreed on a job-by-job basis.

Job specific training will also be provided and a willingness to learn will be much appreciated. Training will be paid on a work back basis.

Our dream candidate will have a long-term vision to grow and develop with the company. As areas develop team leaders will be needed to manage the workforce and be promoted from within the business.

Other requirements are:

  1. A Jack-of-all-Trades and a King of at Least One
  2. Work experience is advantageous but not essential.
  3. Clean driving License
  4. Basic Understanding of Word, Outlook, WhatsApp and Calendar Management and Dropbox.
  5. Travel is part and parcel of this job. You should be prepared to spend time in traffic, driving and spending long hours in the van to reach a single job.
  6. A Can-Do attitude with a first-time-right mentality
  7. Must be prepared to be a “Lone Worker” 90% of the time.
  8. Not afraid of heights
  9. Must be prepared to work across the board in different trades.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance at client sites, as well as handyman jobs.
  2. Identify problems on first call-out and where possible offer a temporary fix or repair/complete job for client.
  3. Liaise with Help Desk in order to keep client up to date at all times.
  4. Maintain all necessary Health and Safety administration before, during and after job.
  5. Time management skills, to ascertain all times needed on a project

For this our client is offering a salary up to £35,000 per annum plus van and rewards, such as trips away to Disneyland!
