Catch 22 are currently working alongside a unique and vibrant organisation in the heart of Central London. We are looking for a Multi-skilled Engineer (Plumbing biased) to join their team.      
       
The main responsibility of the role is to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and refurbishment.  
     
Other responsibilities are;      
 
  • To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and refurbishment, in accordance with set schedules, ensuring standards are maintained in order to maximise organisational effectiveness.
  • To observe statutory and other relevant requirements at all times, in particular those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations.
  • Fault finding and remedial works on plumbing systems and drainage installations.
  • Sampling and cleaning works to potable water services, and water hygiene cyclical maintenance.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of boiler house/plant services, and BMS system.
  • Maintaining electrical installations, repairs and maintenance to M & E, plant, and building fabric
  • Escalate any issue that would affect the availability, health and safety and security of the buildings.
  • To provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives.
  • Assist maintenance team with other PPM/extra works related tasks.
  • Undertake regular physical inspections of the buildings, and of completed works and service contracts.
  • Liaise and build effective working relationships as appropriate with other staff and external parties
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of customer service.
  • Report on maintenance work undertaken in maintenance software
  • Complete and finalise projects to a high standard and have the ability to self-snag works and fault find on completion
  • Act as point of contact by telephone on rota for out of hours emergency calls.
 
The ideal candidate will have;      
 
  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role
  • NVQ Level 2-3 Plumbing or City & Guilds Plumbing or recognised equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Electrical Installation or Electromechanical or equivalent
  • 17th Edition I.E.E. registration or equivalent is beneficial
  • Ability to fault find on mechanical equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Commitment to high standards of customer service
  • Appreciation of cultural sensitivities, and empathy with international students Top of Form
  • Diligent and pro-active
  • Ability to prioritise and act on own initiative.
