Job description

Our client is a multi-tenanted building company opened 24/7 365 days a year. They are the majority tenant and undertakes the role of landlord’s agent, managing the building on behalf of the superior landlord.

Security is of prime importance therefore the company is looking for a Professional Security Supervisor to provide physical security for the building and professional security advice to the company.

Reporting into the Operations Manager the Security Supervisor will be responsible for managing the physical security of the building by providing appropriate manned guarding, ensuring the security of the building, and providing a first class front of house service

The Role

To provide management, supervision and direction to:
– Ensure the building is a safe and secure working environment for all occupants
– Manage the Security Budget
– Protect the company assets
– Minimise business risk for both the building and the tenants (where appropriate)
-Ensure the company is compliant with physical security element of ISO27001
– Ensure compliance with relevant legislation related to all aspects of security work
– Ensure that the security officers provide the highest possible standard of efficiency and customer service
– Manage compliance to the physical security policy
– Maintain, and update as required, the physical security policy for the building.
– Have line management responsibility for the security officers
– Manage the security officers to ensure rota and adequate resources
– Manage compliance with the data protection policies relevant to the Operations department
– Maintain, and update as required, the relevant Operations department data protection policies
– Manage the CCTV and Access Control System and other ancillary equipment
– Promote crime prevention
– Investigate any incidents
– Ensure the emergency preparedness policies are regularly practised
– Maintain, and update as required, the emergency preparedness policies
– Support the management of BCP during an incident and provide operational advice and support to the company’s disaster recovery team
– Network with other local companies and agencies to maintain a local knowledge of security
– Represent the building / company at the Community Security Zone meetings
– Represent the company at the BCP Law forum
– Represent the company at the Southwark BID (Business Improvement District)
– Represent the building / company at the MLE security forum
– Liaise with the local police and maintain a good relationship
– Support the company’s bid submissions in respect of security related matters
– Provide support to the Operations Manager as required

Skills and Experience Required
– A thorough knowledge of all security related legislation
– Experience in a similar role
– Excellent people management skills
– Knowledge of the health and Safety and Environmental legislation would be an advantage but is not essential

Hours:
Monday – Friday 09.30am – 17.30pm but will be expected to work outside of those hours on occasion.
